An old bottle of the excellent Nikka Miyagikyo 10-year-old Japanese single malt whisky. Miyagikyo was the second Japanese whisky distillery built by Nikka's Masataka Taketsuru, beginning production in 1969 under its original distillery name, Sendai.

Rechristened in 2001 after Asahi's takeover of Nikka, Miyagikyo's exquisitely gentle, floral malt whisky had grown a legion of fans before all its age-statement whiskies were discontinued in 2015 during the Japanese whisky supply crisis.

Fingers crossed this classic Japanese malt will be available again one day soon.
