Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 53.4%
A very special single cask 30-year-old Edradour distilled in 1973. This sherry cask #97 was one of three 1973 casks of Edradour bought back from Allied Distillers by Andrew Symington in 2003 soon after he had acquired the Edradour distillery.
Allied had intended to use these casks for a 30-year-old blended whisky, but instead they became a pair of bottlings that constituted the first ever official release of Edradour 30-year-old. Two of the casks were vatted together and bottled at 43%, but this edition is a single cask bottling at cask strength. Edradour 1973 Cask 97 clocked in at an impressive 53.4%, with a total of 539 bottles from the cask.

Yes, a lovely expression from Ardnmurchan. As young as it is (5yrs old I believe), it tastes twice its maturity!
Very well made, delicious & beautifully complex smells & flavours to savour.
