Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers 70cl / 47.5%
Miltonduff is a distillery that doesn't get a lot of attention, principally because the overwhelming majority of its output goes straight for blending - it's a key component of owner Pernod Ricard's Ballantine's blended Scotch whisky.
But while official Miltonduff whiskies are exceptionally rare, thankfully independent bottlings of this underrated Speysider are much more easily acquired, and are almost universally excellent value.
This Miltonduff is from a small batch of bourbon barrels of the 2011 vintage, bottled in 2021 as a 10-year-old at 47.5% by Morrison Distillers for their Carn Mor Strictly Limited series. A natural Miltonduff at this strength is a nailed on winner, particularly at this very reasonable price.
