That's what we're looking at here, with this 8-year-old Glen Ord 2012, bottled from a small batch of bourbon barrels at 47.5% by Morrison Distillers for their Carn Mor Strictly Limited series. All the evidence suggests this will be excellent, and it's great value too.

Fantastic, simple, ex-bourbon matured, single malt
With lots of different cask finishing these days, (some of which are very good by the way) this is a relatively straightforward Glen Ord from Morrison which has been matured using ex-bourbon casks only. It is an excellent example of why this method of maturation is so successful with Scottish single malts. The Ord spirit has interacted with the wood beatifully, with a remarkable balance of vanilla notes, gentle spice and stewed orchard fruits in the nose and taste profiles. Another cracker from Morrison at a great value price.
