We're big Linkwood fans here at Whisky-Online, so we've been delighted to see the loosening of the cellar stock over the last few years with more and more indie versions appearing from this great distillery.
This Linkwood is a small batch of bourbon barrels of the 2011 vintage, bottled as a 9-year-old at 47.5% by Morrison Distillers for their Carn Mor Strictly Limited range. Bourbon cask Linkwood tastes pretty great at almost any age, and at 9 years old from natural bourbon casks, we're pretty sure this will be a delightful apertif whisky.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
