A 13-year-old Springbank 1995 Campbeltown single malt whisky bottled without colouring or chill filtration in 2008 after being selected by Jim McEwan and bottled by Murray McDavid for their Mission Gold series, at its natural cask strength of 55.4%.
To this day, Murray McDavid's Mission Gold whiskies are almost always finished in another type of cask, and back in 2008 it was the same story. This 1995 Springbank 13-year-old ended its days in a red wine cask from Chateau Lafite - Murray McDavid's then-director Mark Reynier came to the whisky industry from the wine trade and always had access to casks from the greatest wineries.

Great value bottle from Signatory - full of rich Madeira notes and slight edgy funk of the distillate come together beautifully! Takes water very well.
It’s a good flavour similar to the secret appetite (M) but with even more flavour. You have to add a bit of water to get it to 50% and the flavour is released in full.
