Description

Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46%

The Kingsbarns distillery began distilling Lowland single malt whisky in 2015 on their restored and converted farmstead in beautiful surroundings not far from the famous Old St. Andrews golf course in Fife. The distillery is now owned by the Wemyss family, who took over the project from founder Douglas Clement, a former golf caddie who found the site and raised the initial investment for the distillery.

Appearing at the beginning of 2019 and distilled entirely from locally-grown Fife barley, Kingsbarns Dream to Dram was the distillery's first general sale release after an initial investors only bottling at the tail end of 2018. A three year old single malt matured in a combination of first fill bourbon casks from Heaven Hill and some STR (shaved, toasted, recharred) Portuguese red wine casks, Dream to Dram has been bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration.

Kingsbarns Dream to Dram is a characterful whisky despite its youth and displays a lot of potential to become a truly outstanding Lowland single malt whisky. A very welcome addition to a category that looked in danger of dying out completely only twenty years ago.

Dream to Dram

After trying this twice in Edinburgh I purchased a bottle. It is a very smooth lowland whiskey with the risk of being too easy to drink. Excellent service from the Whiskey shop , i can not rate them more highly - Excellent product from an excellent supplier - want to buy another one next month
