A 1976 Banff bottled in 2002 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Connoisseurs Choice range, this is a deliciously tweedy, minerally old school Highland malt matured in refill sherry wood. A style of whisky in short supply since so many of the Northern Highland distilleries closed in the 1980s.

1976 is a notable vintage from Banff, with a string of excellent independent bottlings from around the same era by Signatory Vintage and Cadenhead's in particular alongside Gordon & MacPhail.
