Islay Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled By Elixir Distillers 70cl / 54.5%
Elements of Islay Sherry Cask is a blended Islay malt whisky, part of a trio of core range expressions launched during a summer 2022 revamp of the brand, complete with upsized 70cl apothecary bottles and an updated label now featuring cask and flavour information.
As the name suggests, Elements of Islay Sherry Cask has been assembled by Elixir Distillers Head Blender Oliver Chilton exclusively from first fill and refill sherry casks, and promises a combo of tarry peat and sweet sherry flavours, bottled at a hearty 54.5% without colouring or chill filtration. As with the rest of the range, Elements of Islay Sherry Cask looks to be superb value for fans of rich, potent Islay malt whisky.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: The lingering scent of tobacco remains in an empty sandalwood cigar box. Arbroath smokie sits alongside aromatic notes of lemon oil, ginger root and a hint of menthol.
Palate: Rich and unctuous. Dark-chocolate-dipped candied orange slices and chunks of crystalised stem ginger. Muscovado sugar syrup provides a sticky, dark drizzle over date- studded ginger cake. Sweet smoke and dried autumn fruits sit in the background.
Finish: Treacle toffee and smoky black tea, sweetened by dark brown sugar. A long, sweet, rich and spicy finish.
