Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Duncan Taylor 70cl / 54.3%
A very interesting one here: a Duncan Taylor bottling of a teaspooned cask from Ailsa Bay, William Grant's massive modern Lowland distillery that generally plugs away in the background producing single malt for the company's blended whiskies. Of course, as it's had a small amount of (probably) Balvenie or Glenfiddich added, it has to be classed as a blended malt.
At 12 years old, this Drumblade is one of the oldest bottlings of Ailsa Bay we've encountered, distilled in 2008, the year after construction was completed. Even better, it's from a sherry cask and bottled at its full strength of 54.3%.
