A 12-year-old Caol Ila single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 by Douglas Laing as part of The Vault single cask collection. This limited release was specially selected for Y's Cask in Tokyo, Japan.

Matured for 12 years in a refill hogshead, cask number 16583, this Caol Ila was bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.3% ABV, with an outturn of just 286 bottles.

Caol Ila is renowned for its distinctive Islay character, combining coastal peat smoke with citrus, maritime notes and a subtle underlying sweetness. The refill hogshead maturation allows the distillery's character to remain at the forefront, making this an interesting example of independently bottled Caol Ila.

Part of Douglas Laing's specialist The Vault range, this single cask release offers an opportunity to explore Caol Ila at cask strength, with the added appeal of being an exclusive selection for the Japanese market.
