A single cask Glenallachie 1981 22-year-old Speyside single malt whisky released in 2003 or 2004 by mail order independent whisky bottlers Direct Wines for their First Cask series.
This 22-year-old Glenallachie 1981 came from single cask 600, bottled without colouring or chill filtration at 46%. Glenallachie was in the doldrums when this cask was bottled, with little indication that the miraculous revival by Billy Walker was just around the corner - casks like these demonstrate that the distillery's quality was always there for anyone who cared to look.
