Islay Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Cooper's Choice 70cl / 51%
Teaspooning sounds like something that should probably only be done by consenting adults behind closed doors, but in whisky it's the perfectly wholesome, though slightly ludicrous, practice of adding a small amount of single malt whisky to a cask of single malt from another distillery so that the cask is technically a blended malt and the distillery's name can no longer be used when bottling.
Leaving aside the ridiculousness of any rules system that says the above must be a blended malt, but that it's perfectly fine for single malts to be matured in casks that formerly held grain whisky, this is a bourbon cask of the 2005 vintage from a poorly-disguised 'mystery' Islay distillery known as Williamson.
This Williamson 'blended' malt has been bottled in 2021 as a 16-year-old by Cooper's Choice, yielding 204 bottles at 51%, and will be particularly appreciated by fans of the beautiful hollow by the broad bay.
