A super rare Clynelish this one. Bottled in 1995 as part of the very first outrun of Rare Malts releases back when they were little more than single cask bottlings. This is a rare and glorious slice of Clynelish from the distillery owners and one of the very first 1972s to be bottled.
A great example to taste this legendary distillate at a much younger age than usual. Bottlings of Clynelish distilled in the early 70s are very hard to come by under the age of 30. This one is typically a powerhouse, massively oily, waxy and with a kind of greasy, farmy smoky quality about it. Lots of fruits, minerals and honey but with more slightly youthful vigour as well. A classic.
