Bottled for the 2021 batch of Diageo Special Releases, this 2006 Cardhu 14-year-old has been finished in red wine casks before bottling at its cask strength of 55.5%.
It now seems clear that the average age of each year's Special Release whiskies varies inversely with the amount of design and marketing blurb generated for them. Aficionados of the genre will enjoy this Cardhu bottling's subtitle: The Scarlet Blossoms of Black Rock.
