Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Douglas Laing 70cl / 46%
A lovely young 8-year-old Caol Ila 2013 bottled from a single cask without colouring or chill filtration in 2022 by Douglas Laing for their Provenance series.
This 2013 Caol Ila 8-year-old came from Cask DL16075, a refill barrel that squeezed out an impressive 409 bottles at 46%. There's little better than a fresh young Caol Ila to blow the cobwebs away, particularly from a hipflask after a good walk, and the recent 2013s we've tried have all been terrific. This Provenance Caol Ila 2013 should be another delight.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Nose: Islay smoke mingles with crispy bacon, dried earth and a driftwood fire character.
Palate: A sweet treacle style is apparent alongside heavily charred oak and peated barley.
Finish: More of that smoke depth with cured meats and iodine lingers on and on.
