This Caol Ila was distilled in November 2004 and matured in hogsheads #306295 & #306297 before being bottled by Ian Macleod for their Chieftain's series 14 years later in May 2019 with a yield of 932 bottles.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
