The second edition of Bunnahabhain 12-year-old Cask Strength, released in Autumn 2022. This is a very welcome addition to Bunnahabhain's lineup, but it's a limited edition and - fair warning - the first version sold out very quickly when it came out in 2021.
Just like its predecessor, this cask strength Bunnahabhain 12-year-old has been matured predominantly in a mix of first and second fill Oloroso sherry casks, with a small proportion of ex-bourbon casks for balance.
This 2022 edition of Bunnahabhain 12-year-old Cask Strength clocks in at a slightly higher strength of 56.6%, and for anyone lucky enough to get their hands on one this will be a brilliant Christmas whisky.

Colour: Russet gold.
Nose: Initial notes of creamy milk chocolate, red berries and sweet dried fruit are balanced with classic Oloroso spiciness and a hint of cloves.
Palate: Toasted nuts, salted caramel and chocolate covered raisins are intertwined with crisp apple, poached pears and a dusting of cinnamon.
Finish: A sweet long finish with cocoa, cherries and a light sea spray.
Bunnahabhain 12yr old Cask Strength .. Wow .. one sip and you're hooked.
Great sherry finish whisky. One to savour but you'll find it difficult to refuse "just another one then" Outstandingly moreish.
