It's been clear for a while now that the mid to late 1990s were a golden era for distillation at Bowmore after the dark lavender days of the 1980s.
The 1997 vintage in particular seems to have been an annus mirabilis for the distillery, so it's great to see this Lady of the Glen Bowmore 1997 from Hannah Whisky Merchants, bottled in 2020 as a 23-year-old from a refill sherry butt at 42.4% - a low natural cask strength that should ensure serious flavour concentration. This should be absolutely amazing.
