A 1996 single cask Bowmore 1996 bottled as a 20-year-old in 2017 without colouring or chill filtration by Hunter Laing for their Old Malt Cask series.
This 20-year-old Bowmore 1996 came from a refill hogshead Cask 13284 that yielded a total of 239 bottles at the Old Malt Cask preferred strength of 50%. Bowmore's 1997 vintage is perhaps more famous, but we've always preferred these vibrant natural refill casks of 1996, with their lively sweet fruit, grassy peat and creamy smoked vanilla flavours.
