This whisky was distilled in 2006 and matured in a single ex-bourbon American oak cask for 12 years before being bottled in 2019 at a cask strength of 57.8% and a yield of just 271 bottles.

Nose: Rich and fruity aromas, full of maple syrup, orchard fruits and coffee. Palate: Very well rounded, with rich and syrupy fruit flavours, zesty citrus, sponge cakes and marmalade. Finish: Becomes more soft & relaxed in the finish, with brown sugar, fruitcake and still that hint of coffee.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
