Description

Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 44.4%

A quite remarkable new release from Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Generations series. A 1939 Mortlach bottled in 2015 at 75 years of age after maturation in a first fill sherry butt. This sets a new record - breaking their own for the second time running - for the oldest whisky ever bottled. Limited to just 100 hand engraved decanters and presented in a bespoke, hand-made leather bag with a specially commissioned book, this is one of the most beautiful releases G&M have ever produced. The whisky is emotion and breathtaking to taste, woody but elegantly so and never excessive with some stunning fruit and spice qualities still holding it in check. A remarkable achievement and one of the most impressive whiskies ever bottled. One for the history books.
