A mystery Islay single malt whisky from the fine folk up at Ian Macleod Distillers. Macleod's Islay Single Malt hails from an unrevealed Islay distillery and has been selected by Malt Master John Glass and bottled at an easy-drinking 40%.
We're curious types here, so we had a quick dig around, but there's no info we can find as to who actually made this. At this bargain price for an Islay single malt whisky it's not really important, particularly as Ian Macleod only release good stuff.
Please note the last bottle in stock has a small tear in the label as pictured.
Some qualities of a real whiskey here it seems. Nothing wrong per se, some may prefer it one way or another, but, tastes nice overall to me. Being ultra picky... a bit sweet, and oddly a tiny bit bitter on the after taste. Still an enjoyable whiskey.

Blindfolded I'd know an Islay single malt. Easy on the palate, slight saltyness with following liquorice, smooth and velvety - really good value at this price.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
