Lindores Abbey Oloroso Sherry Butts is a limited edition Lowland single malt Scotch whisky in the Casks of Lindores series from the Lindores Abbey distillery, one of the new wave of Lowland distillers.
Distillation began at Lindores Abbey in December 2017, and the distillery's spirit is aged in three types of cask: bourbon, sherry and STR (Shaved, Toasted, Recharred) red wine casks. The Casks of Lindores range was introduced in 2022 and comprises three separate single malts, each exclusively matured in one of the three cask types.
This Lindores Abbey Oloroso Sherry Butts was a small batch limited edition bottled at 49.4% without colouring or chill filtration. A great chance to try 100% sherried malt whisky from one of the Lowland's newest distilleries.
This is the second bottle bought for my son it came to me in a recommendation following a visit to various distilleries on a holiday in Scotland. My son really enjoys this Whiskey so I know it will be a welcome Christmas gift.

Great sherry cask from this young distillery. I discovered it a year ago since then I've bought 5 seperate bottles to use at Whisky tasting evening and it always gets a big thumbs up.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
