The cult of Ledaig, the peated single malt whisky made by Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull, shows no sign of slowing down, with adventurous malt fans clamouring after every new release of this exceptionally idiosyncratic whisky. Ledaig's curious earthy, rubbery spirit doesn't appeal to all whisky drinkers, but fans of this instantly recognisable whisky accept no substitutes. Just 249 bottles came form this particular bourbon barrel, so don't hang around long if you want one.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
