Long Pond is an historic Jamaican distillery with roots going back to the 18th century and was owned for a time by Seagram's, who used it to make the original rum for their Captain Morgan brand.
This 1986 single cask Long Pond is a rather different proposition, distilled on a continuous still (unusual for Long Pond) and made in the IRW Royal Wedderburn style, so there will be some esters but not a really heavy funk. Cadenhead's bottled this 1986 Long Pond at its massive natural cask strength of 68.3%, so you may find it best with a drop of water.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
