Every so often Balvenie offers a 25-year-old variant of their excellent Single Barrel series. These Balvenie 25-year-olds have a bit of a reputation and this 1988 vintage is no exception.
Distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2014, this Balvenie 25-year-old Cask 69 is marvellously fruity, not overly complex but flavour forward, fun and playful dram that just seems to disappear in the glass. Dangerous and brilliant stuff.
