This is a big Ardbeg that combines some of the characteristics of the great early seventies style with some of the lighter aspects of the late seventies/early eighties distillates.
Lots of mocha, dry tarry peat, linseed oil, bitter cocoa, moss, coal, seaweed, a little medicine and more drying, savoury aspects.
An all-round fantastic dram that shows Ardbeg as a whisky in a very transitional and interesting stage of its life.
