A lovely old bottle of 1966 Aberlour matured for 30 years in a mix of two sherry butts and one bourbon hogshead before being released in the mid-1990s. This Aberlour 1966 was a special limited edition, with just 1000 bottles issued at 43%, and is one of the underrated hidden treasures from the distillery's historical archive.
Aberlour 1966 is a sumptuous whisky, very easy to drink with delicious archetypal sherried Speyside dried fruit and chocolate cake flavours balanced by the bourbon cask's spicy vanilla notes. An amazing aperitif whisky or the perfect accompaniment to a light cigar at the end of a meal.
