This 2008 Inchgower 15-year-old ended its days in Cask 806198, a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon cask that yielded a generous 555 bottles at a potent natural cask strength of 54%. Sherry casks and Inchgower go together like toast and beans, and the distillery's sturdy spirit is more than capable of handling a bit of PX, so this should be great stuff.

Nose: Caramel, dark chocolate Bounty bar, morello cherries, toasted oak and aniseed.
Pallet: The PX influence is strong, but not overwhelming. Well-balanced. Lush dessert-style profile - caramelised Demerara.
An additional bottle was ordered once the first glass was emptied.
A wonderful flavoursome liquid with notes of banana on the nose.
