I felt it was a very poor example of cognac. I have received whisky samples previously and they were drinkable.
Balmenach was a new Distillery to me that is probably better known these days for it's Gin production. I've tried quite a few of the SV 100 Proof offerings and have yet to be disappointed. I have found that Balmenach Whisky isn't that easy to get hold of so this was a good opportunity to try it and I was nicely impressed. If you like sherry bombs you'll probably like this one.

Love Miltonduff malt whisky but normally out of my price range.
This one from the Signatory 100 Proof Series although only eight years old tastes superb and is excellent value for money.
Its ok but theres a few better art this price, nice for a change though
