Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46%
A small batch bottling of Springbank distillery's peated whisky Longrow 18-year-old Campbeltown single malt whisky. This was an official bottling of Longrow 18-year-old released in 2020.
Bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration, this 2020 version of Longrow 18-year-old was a limited edition of 4300 bottles from a small batch of casks that must have been filled soon after the turn of the millennium, and was composed of 55% sherry casks, 25% bourbon casks and 20% rum casks.
Longrow 18-year-old first appeared in 2008, and joined the core range of Springbank releases in 2011. This was a staple of the Longrow range for over a decade, but at the time of writing in 2026 there has only been one batch of Longrow 18-year-old released since 2022, amid rumours of shortages of aged stock at the distillery. Hopefully new batches will reappear soon.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
