A 2011 vintage Ben Nevis, bottled in September 2026 by Alistair Walker Whisky Company for the Infrequent Flyers series. Aged for 14 years and finished in a Madeira hogshead, this Highland single malt was drawn from single cask #2346, yielding 304 bottles at a natural cask strength of 57.8%.
The Madeira finish introduces an additional dimension to Ben Nevis's naturally weighty spirit. Madeira wine casks are associated with rich dried fruit, caramelised sugars, warming spice and a distinctive sweet-and-tart character, offering an interesting contrast to the distillery's underlying maltiness and subtle savoury qualities.
Part of the Infrequent Flyers range established by Alistair Walker in 2018, this single cask release offers an opportunity to explore Ben Nevis through a less conventional style of cask maturation. With just 304 bottles produced, it is an interesting addition to the growing selection of independently bottled Ben Nevis single malts.
