A 2000 vintage Caperdonich, bottled in 2026 by Alistair Walker Whisky Company for Batch 22 of his Infrequent Flyers series. Aged for 26 years in a refill hogshead, this rare Speyside single malt was drawn from single cask #29506, yielding just 278 bottles at a natural cask strength of 50.2%.

This release marks an important milestone for independent bottler Alistair Walker, celebrating the company's 200th bottling since its establishment in 2018. To commemorate the occasion, Walker selected a particularly special cask from Caperdonich, one of Scotland's increasingly sought-after lost distilleries.

Originally established in 1898 as Glen Grant No. 2, Caperdonich operated intermittently before reopening under its own name in 1965. Situated in Rothes, directly opposite Glen Grant, the distillery developed a reputation for producing a distinctive Speyside malt, often characterised by its fruity, honeyed and gently floral character. Production ceased permanently in 2002, and the distillery buildings were demolished in 2010–2011, leaving only its remaining stocks to represent its legacy.

Distilled just two years before Caperdonich's closure, this whisky comes from the final chapter of the distillery's production history. Its extended ageing in a refill hogshead offers the opportunity to explore the character of Caperdonich's spirit after more than a quarter of a century in oak, without the dominant influence of an active first-fill cask.

An especially significant addition to the Infrequent Flyers range, combining the rarity of a closed distillery with the milestone of Alistair Walker's 200th release. With just 278 bottles produced, this is an increasingly scarce example of Caperdonich from its final years of operation.
