A single cask of Probably Speyside's Finest 1968 40-year-old Speyside single malt whisky released by indie bottlers Douglas Laing in 2009 as part of their Old Malt Cask series. It's an open secret that these casks were from Glenfarclas distillery.

This 40-year-old Probably Speyside's Finest 1968 was bottled without colouring or chill filtration from single cask 5047, which was a sherry butt that yielded 361 bottles at a sturdy 50%, Douglas Laing's preferred strength for the Old Malt Cask series. 

The whiskies made by Glenfarclas in the 1960s were never less than excellent, and frequently spectacular, while the sherry casks in which they matured were of a quality that simply no longer exists. These precious time capsules from 1960s Speyside are must-trys for fans of whisky's golden age.
