A vintage release from Glenrothes, distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2003 at 43% ABV. This was part of the distillery’s distinctive vintage-led range produced during its long association with London wine and spirits merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd.

Rather than relying primarily on age statements, Glenrothes became particularly well known for releasing whiskies by vintage, selecting parcels for bottling once they were considered ready. This 1989 vintage spent around 14 years maturing before being bottled in 2003.

The distinctive Sample Room-style label records the whisky’s character as “Mellow, oak and dried fruits”, alongside the dates on which the whisky was checked and approved for bottling.

A classic example of the earlier Glenrothes vintage releases, presented in the distillery’s instantly recognisable rounded bottle.
