Limited editions are a fantastic method for spirits companies to liven up their standard ranges and showcase their most special liquid in one-off batches like Diageo’s annual Special Releases. They’re also a great way to test innovations, with the most successful limited edition whiskies often paving the way for future core range releases, like the famous Glenmorangie wood finishes or Aberlour A’bunadh.

Of course, limited editions aren’t just for official bottlers - quite the reverse, in fact, as independent bottlers’ whiskies and rums are almost all limited editions. With much less inventory from each distillery to work with, indie bottlers' whiskies are limited by definition, and you’ll find all our independently-bottled single cask whiskies and small batch bottlings in this section.
