Initially launched on Ardbeg Day at the Feis Ile (Islay Festival) in 2013, Ardbeg Ardbog was the successor to the highly acclaimed Ardbeg Galileo, which had earlier won the title World's Best Single Malt at the World Whisky Awards. This Ardbeg was available only through the Ardbeg Committee or at the distillery and Ardbeg Embassies.

Matured for 10 years in a combination of traditional American oak ex-bourbon barrels and ex-Spanish Manzanilla sherry butts, Ardbeg Ardbog has become one of the most successful and highly sought after of the limited edition Ardbegs released in the last decade or so, with a distinctive oily texture accentuating the nutty, citrussy, briny flavours.
