Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 55.8%
Lovely to see a longer-aged Mannochmore, especially at full cask strength. Mannochmore distillery is mostly engaged with making single malt whisky for Diageo's Haig blend, so gratitude and kudos are due to Gordon & MacPhail for rustling up this 1997 vintage 22-year-old for their excellent Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength series.
Even better, this Mannochmore 1997 came via a first fill sherry butt (cask number 12098 for the trainspotters) that yielded 490 bottles at a handsome cask strength of 55.8%. If you haven't tasted Mannochmore yet you're unlikely to find many better options than this.
