Glendronach is something of a cult legend amongst whisky lovers and deservedly so. Along with Macallan and Glenfarclas, it is one of those special distilleries forever associated with stunning sherry casks.

However, while Macallan has struggled to maintain this image, Glendronach has gone from strength to strength in recent years. The distillery was revived in spectacular style by Benriach owner Billy Walker, who bought Glendronach from Pernod Ricard in 2008. Walker built Glendronach's status and reputation very rapidly by the simple expedient of launching a high quality core range of age statement whiskies and bottling some of the hundreds of superb sherry casks in the warehouses.  The subsequent success was so impressive that Brown Forman bought Walker's Glendronach, Glenglassaugh and Benriach distilleries in 2016.
