A single cask Port Charlotte 2009 8-year-old Islay single malt whisky released by indie bottlers Artful Dodger back in 2018 in their unmistakable half litre (50cl) apothecary bottles. Port Charlotte, you'll remember, is one of Bruichladdich distillery’s heavily-peated single malt whiskies.
This 8-year-old Port Charlotte was bottled without colouring or chill filtration from single cask 1043, which had previously held the delicious French dessert wine Sauternes from Bordeaux, and was an edition of 398 bottles at a spectacular 64.2% natural cask strength. This was one of Artful Dodger’s first bottlings back in 2018; sadly, at the time of writing in 2025 no new Artful Dodger bottlings have appeared since 2022 and the brand now appears defunct.
