A rare early edition of Bruichladdich's heavily-peated single malt Octomore, The Beast - so-called because of its eye-watering 167ppm phenol content - was the second of the Octomore Futures releases, which were available only to early investors or visitors to the distillery and never went on general sale.
This Octomore was distilled in 2004, matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at full cask strength in 2011 at six years old.
