Gordon & MacPhail
Nose: Vanilla, toffee and light fruitcake with peat smoke.
Palate: Hints of sea salt, zesty lemon, sweet candied lime and liquorice.
Finish: Smouldering bonfire.
Another interesting dram, this peated Bunnahabhain has a rich smoky character, without the strong phenolic 'TCP' taste that some peated whiskies have. Quite light and easy drinking, with hints of peat smoke and vanilla/caramel in the nose. The taste profile has a hint of coal smoke, liquorice notes, a brown sugar sweetness, with a lasting finish, that means you can make a dram of this last a good while. This was an excellent value purchase (at the original price), lots of bang for buck here.
