Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 53%
A 2008 Blair Athol 14-year-old bottled in 2022 without colouring or chill filtration for Batch 11 of Alistair Walker's Infrequent Flyers range.
This 14-year-old Blair Athol 2008 was finished in a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon Cask 807413 that turned out 680 bottles at a cask strength of 53%. Blair Athol's sturdy distillate loves sherry maturation, so this should be a cracker.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Colour: Mordor… or Auburn. Basically, quite dark.
Nose: Some nice depth here… Intense aromas of cocoa, figs, apple strudel and baked fruits.
Palate: Delicious, full-bodied, viscous and chewy. Molten brown sugars combine with dark chocolate and crème brûlée. Morello cherries, treacle and a touch of mocha. A hint of star anise perhaps? There is much happening here, but it all seems very well knitted together.
