The ever-popular Monkey Shoulder blended malt introduced their peated variant Smokey Monkey in 2017. As with the original Monkey Shoulder, Smokey Monkey is a blended malt whisky made with single malts from owner William Grant's distilleries, which include Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Kininvie, but it's widely believed that Smokey Monkey uses peated malt whisky from Ailsa Bay as one of the components.

The result is a well-balanced cocktail-friendly malt whisky showing a mix of oak smoke, vanilla and spice.
