Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 60%
A single cask Manager's Dram Glen Elgin 16-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled in 1993 from a single sherry cask at full cask strength.
The Manager's Dram series was introduced in the late 1980s by SMD / United Distillers as a special perk for staff and VIPs. Once or twice a year the managers of UD's distilleries would gather and rate each others' favourite casks, with the winning whiskies from these legendary blind tasting sessions being bottled at full cask strength and sold in staff-only shops - the Manager's Dram whiskies were never publicly available.
Naturally, the Manager's Dram bottlings became extremely desirable for collectors and are today highly sought after, especially the early sherry cask examples like this 16-year-old Glen Elgin, which is a big-boned, muscular Speyside dram distilled in the mid-to-late 1970s and bottled in 1993 at a particularly robust 60% cask strength. A huge, vivid sherry monster with tons of smoky bacon, roasted nuts, Guinness cake, aged tobacco, fig pudding, stewed fruits, toasted spices and concentrated fruit syrups.
The product price on margin items include VAT which must not be shown separately or reclaimed as input tax. Input tax has not been and will not be claimed in respect of the margin goods sold.
