Today, Balvenie 21-year-old PortWood remains a flagship whisky in the range of what is now recognised as one of Speyside's greatest distilleries - a reputation that this whisky, probably more than any other single bottling, did so much to build. It's no exaggeration to say that Balvenie PortWood is such an influential whisky that it's difficult to imagine what the whisky world would be like today if it had never existed.
