A single cask Mortlach 1987 38-year-old Speyside single malt whisky released by independent bottlers Adelphi Distillers in 2025.
This 38-year-old Mortlach 1987 matured in a single refill bourbon barrel cask 1594 that was bottled without colouring or chill filtration and yielded 188 bottles at an ideal natural drinking cask strength of 45.9%. Mortlach is one of those magical Speyside distilleries whose spirit is blessed with incredible longevity, and a refill bourbon barrel at this age will have developed amazing tertiary characteristics, so this should be a magnificent whisky.

Great value bottle from Signatory - full of rich Madeira notes and slight edgy funk of the distillate come together beautifully! Takes water very well.
It’s a good flavour similar to the secret appetite (M) but with even more flavour. You have to add a bit of water to get it to 50% and the flavour is released in full.
