North British is the last working distillery in Edinburgh and the second-largest grain distillery in Scotland. Almost the entire production of North British grain whisky spirit is sold for blending.
Signatory have managed to bottle this extraordinary 51-year-old in 2011 for their Rare Reserve Collection and what a whisky it is.
It was distilled in 1959 and matured in a single refill butt number 67876 before being bottled in 2011 at a cask strength of 55.6% with a yield of just 289 bottles.

Raisin and chocolate aroma and a taste of sherry with dried fruits and nuts and a little spice. Dry almost savoury despite the fruits with wine gums in the finish. (Taken with a good slug of water).
