A single cask Craigellachie 2012 10-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled in 2023 without colouring or chill filtration by independent bottlers A.D. Rattray for their Cask Collection range.
This 10-year-old Craigellachie 2012 came from single cask 901031, a sherry butt in which the spirit rested for over seven years before being reracked into another sherry butt that had previously held Glenallachie single malt whisky for its last 30 months of ageing. The final outturn was 552 bottles at an exceptionally potent 65% natural cask strength. There’s been a few of these rocket fuel Craigellachies around recently - clearly they must have been filling some casks without dilution at the time - and they’re generally outstandingly rich, oily whiskies.
